It really is all about the simpler things in life. One way to do it is to be very classy and use the old Country style Decor. Some examples of this are the Tuscan or Italian Country style, American Country, Modern Country, French Country and old English Country. As you realize each began in a different location but it has withstood modern trends and has continued to been around for years. What this means is that you cannot go wrong with this time tested decor.

To give you a breakdown of the different styles here are they exposed to give you an idea of each decor style. French Country Decor is very rustic version of the typical more formal French Designs. When you look at the typical design it often has Wood Peices that are unfinished and they typically have a finish in worm honey shades. It contains very natural finishes. The French style has natural materials which have natural stone floors and some great woven rush seats which is typically pretty common with this style. Now one distinct sytle of this type of Country Style Furniture and Decor is wrought iron and weathered metal finish. Some very popular colors are typically gold, green blue and yellow!

Now the next style that we will look at is the English style which is typical of houses in England. Now it doesn’t matter if they are huge or small this style shows a more relaxed and comfortable decor than normal traditional designs in England. When you think of English country you need to think “garden!” So you need to have the appropriate colors, fabrics and accesoires that pull their look from specifically a gardens decor from Chintz fabrics and have a typical relation to English country space but other patterns are stripes, plaids and ginghams. You can also use wood shaded tones and finish that can range from dark stain and unfinished pine.

Now the style that I really like is the Tuscan style! This style is also known as Italian country style which refers to the villas and farm houses in the countryside. Like other country styles it is much more basic than its  more sophisticated version. The colors are very rich and warm which include  green, ochre, terracotta and golden yellow colors. One really nice element is the great looking stone fireplaces and the nice floors which bring a rustic feel in the the home. You can also set up the decor to have textured or plastered walls to have some hewn rough beams. There are also some basic wood peices that are often allowed to look unfinished. Overall when you do this you will make the whole style “pop” and bring it all together!

When you look at the American Country style ou will realize that it has several deep roots in other styles. Obviously this is because of all the different cultures in America. Now when you look at the different periods you will see that it encompasses southwestern style, swedish style, colonial style, and even Pennsylvania Dutch so these types of styles and influences are blended together to form the American Country Style. With the American Country style you have to remember that keeping everything simple and basic is the way to accomplish this style. You can paint, stain, or leave the furniture unfinished, you can easily use accessories which you can locate in baskets and in nature. Remember keep your window treatments also basic and few.

Last but not least is the Modern Country Style. This is a nice style that you can use with furniture peices. This is great for someone that doesn’t want to do a whole lot. So again another way to just keep it simple by keeping the simple attitude towards artwork, paint, accessories and design in general! You can place a modern piece of furniture or using some modern lighting is a great way to mix it up with the traditional country style. Again modern artwork and bright pillows can change the feel of any area of the home. This is the eclectic of mixing styles its a wonderful way of to bring in relaxation and comfort.

So feel free to have it all settle and click in your mind. Let yourself think about what you want to do with your home. Draw designs and just imagine, imagine what it is going to look like when you incorporate your American Country Style. Or how its going to look with you Modern Country style or just ponder about the  Tuscan Style / Italian Country style, French Country Style and old English Country Style.
